To address the ongoing nutritional issue of children in rural pockets attending school with an empty stomach, Annapoorna, a unique morning nutrition programme began in 2012 with the vision of “Let no child go to school hungry, ever!”. It started with 50 children. Today, the programme provides Breakfast and morning nutrition to over 8 million school-going children daily. SaiSure, a morning multi-nutrient supplement is served to mothers-to-be providing them with the needed nutrition to deliver healthy babies as ell as infants and toddlers.

Empowering Through Education
Values-Based education is provided to over 5,000 children in India. A multi-faceted university was established in the year 2018 to allow children to pursue higher studies in their field of interest. This Values-Based Education is from 6th standard through Ph.D. studies and provides everything to the student from clothes to necessities including room and board.
Additionally, starting in 2023, Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence established India’s First Free Private Rural Medical College, Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research which provides free Medical Education to students. This education is not only for doctors-to-be but also for DNB(post-graduate specialization), Nurses and Paramedics.

Healing Through Healthcare
Child Heart Care hospitals have been established in India without any billing counters. Till date, over 28,000 children have been treated for congenital heart disease including open heart surgeries and Catheter procedures.
DWF also sponsors a Multi-Disciplinary Hospital with a high dependency in-patient unit with specially equipped paediatric and neonatal ICU facilities, including HDU and oxygenated beds providing services to the rural and underprivileged sections of the society. Till date over 483,000 outpatients have been treated in this hospital.
The Sai Swasthya Wellness Centres offer primary healthcare services like preventive diagnostics, outpatient consultations, telehealth consultations, rural outreach camps, and referrals to tertiary healthcare centres. Currently, we have five centres that are functioning at Vishakapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Kaghaznagar (Telangana), Vatadahosahalli and Pathapalya (Chikkaballapur, Karnataka), Howrah (West Bengal), and Bapatla (Andhra Pradesh).
There are also 5 Mother and child welfare hospitals established to treat and support pregnant women, new-borns and infants. Counseling is also provided.
